Kitchen & Laundry
Single Lever:
Please measure the diameter of the barrel with a pair of calipers, or remove the handle and dome cover and measure the dome cover with a ruler or tape measure.
A stiff handle is often caused by a stiff cartridge. One common reason for a stiff cartridge is due to lime scale built up in the cartridge over time. Our recommendation is to contact a certified plumber to replace your cartridge when this happens.

Think of your shower mixer as the main engine – it supplies the right mix of flow and temperature to all the other shower components. Selecting a mixer that best matches your pressure system and needs is a crucial step to getting the best performance out of your shower. If you are unsure what your water pressure situation is, please speak to a plumber.
Unequal Pressure:
Your cold supply comes directly in from the mains or town supply or a large supply tank installed with a pump to increase pressure, but your hot supply comes from a low pressure hot water system.
If you are currently on an unequal pressure system but you are considering upgrading to a mains/equal high pressure system in the future then we would recommend our Fusion Plus Shower Mixer.
Single Lever – Fusion Plus Shower Mixer
Diverter Mixer – Versadisc Diverter Mixer
Integrated shower head – Feltonmix Unequal Pressure Shower Mixer
Equal Low Pressure:
Both your hot and cold water supply are from the same source at low pressure e.g. cylinder, ceiling tank, a tank on an outside stand or a tank elevated on a hillside. You have an equal mix of hot and cold water with a low pressure flow rate. We would recommend our equal pressures mixer for the best performance.
If you are planning to upgrade to a mains pressure/equal high pressure system in the future, Fusion Plus will be the best option as this can be upgraded from the front of the wall without touching the wall lining.
Single Lever – Fusion Plus Shower Mixer, MP/EP/Flexidisc Shower Mixer
Diverter Mixer – Versadisc Diverter Mixer

Mains Pressure:
This is the ideal pressure situation, for more information on the technology, you can check it out here.
If you’re after a compact look, consider the 35mm cartridge options (up to 500kPa) in our Tate, Max, Jaz and Willo II ranges.
For pressures of 500kPa or more, consider the Fusion Plus, Versadisc or an integrated diverter option.
1. Determine what shower mixer you have, check out “Which shower mixer do I have?” in the FAQ section.
2. Please contact Felton on 0800 743 358 and we can advise if the mixer you have installed is suitable for the pressure situation.
A dripping shower mixer could be caused by a few different things.
When the mixer is in the ‘off’ position, there will be water in the plumbing and the shower system that needs to drain out.
Under some circumstances it may take some time for this draining to cease and this may be exacerbated if you have a low-aperture showerhead or limescale build-up as it may take time (up to a minute or so) if water becomes air-locked in the system.
If you know what shower mixer you have, check out our innovations page for more information and for spare parts. Please get a plumber to check if any seals need replacing. If they do, take a picture of your shower mixer and email your query to technical@felton.co.nz and we can assist further.
Measure the diameter of the barrel on your shower mixer. This will give you the size that you need.
